Katie Gorbold (Lead Midwife) MS, APRN-CNM, CBS

Katie is a graduate of the Ohio State University's nurse midwifery program. Katie's passion for birth work emerged with her own nurse-midwife-attended birth in 2015. Katie has discovered her life's work rooted in the traditional midwifery model of care and values continuity of care and the individualization of community-based birth work. Katie believes that low risk birthing families should have options to decide where and how they give birth, and that the ability and power to birth in a way that feels strong and safe can be found inside each woman as they choose.

Katie has completed 90 hours in lactation education (making her a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist), and plans to sit the exam to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2024. In addition to this, she views community birth as a necessary and essential option for low-risk families and has a dream to open and operate her own birth center some day.

Katie is wife to husband Scott and has an 8-year-old boy Winter Levi and a new baby boy (born at home!), Cove Judah. Katie also has two dogs, a Jack Russell Terrier "Oatmeal" and a Pug "Lolli". Katie loves to garden and also enjoys cooking and homestyling.

Courtney Mundy (Lead Midwife)

MS, APRN-CNM

Courtney attended The Ohio State University’s graduate-entry program, earning her Master of Science in Midwifery in 2021. Throughout her schooling, she knew she desired to support families in the community setting. Upon graduation, she moved to Yakima, Washington to work at Watershed Birth Center where she practiced for a year before the practice was sold. Before deciding to move back to Ohio, she had the opportunity to work in a group home for medically fragile children for six months. Now back in Ohio, she is excited to continue her work as a midwife serving families. In addition to working at Wide Circles, she attends births at the Mount Eaton Care Center, serving Amish and Mennonite families. She believes that all families deserve to give birth in the setting they feel most comfortable.

Courtney enjoys podcasts, crocheting, plants, rock climbing, and walking her dog in her spare time.

“I’m blown away by the service I was provided by the midwives. They were so intentional and compassionate through every moment of my appointment. They took the time to listen and hear my worries and then gently walk me through every one of my concerns. I’ll be a forever client.”

Christine Cassella (Birth Assistant) MS, CD(BAI), LCCE

Christine is a mother of two and has a broad background including training as a behavioral biologist, certified herbalist, birth doula, and student Certified Professional Midwife. Christine has been passionate about reproductive health and natural living throughout her life, but truly began to see the importance of an empowered pregnancy and childbirth when she was pregnant with her first child.  It is her belief that birth is a pivotal time during a childbearing person’s life to claim their power, find their truth, and emerge as a new parent prepared to face all the challenges and joys that arise. Christine’s diverse skill set allows her to provide client care that is both evidence-based, intuitive, and parent-centered.  Christine has special interests in teaching birthing people and their families how they can thrive using herbal remedies, and she is particularly interested in supporting parents desiring natural birth at home or hospital.

Lindsey Varga (Assistant & Midwife) MSN, APRN-CNM

Lindsey is recent graduate and board certified Nurse Midwife currently working as a labor and delivery RN. Her background is adult ICU/trauma which has helped her become keenly aware of anticipating and managing emergencies. Her complex medical training coupled with her in-depth education surrounding physiologic birth has given her a healthy respect for both hospital and community based care. Lindsey believes that the key to preventing birth trauma is through education and advocacy, and strives to empower families by supporting their birth choices. She is involved in midwifery advocacy and community outreach through the American College of Nurse Midwives.

Personally, she has a husband, Aaron, 2 daughters, Everly and Piper and 2 dogs, Gracie and Gryffin and lives in Lorain.  Currently she is enjoying learning about energy work (focusing on labor support), cooking, and gardening.

Danielle Moroski (Birth Assistant) BSN, RN

Danielle is a labor and delivery nurse with prior experience as a birth doula and a background in public health. She has been interested in pregnancy and birth for as long as she can remember and hopes to start her midwifery education in late 2024/early 2025. Danielle initially learned about the midwifery model of care and community-based birth work during her public health studies and immediately knew that was what she wanted to do. She believes that holistic, person-centered care should be the standard in all healthcare settings and has dreams of helping to make that happen.

Danielle lives with her partner Katie and their 3 cats Bubby, Bean, and David. She enjoys reading, rock climbing, hiking, running, and cycling.
